I am withholding two key photos from this bunch ... that is the two photos that made the final cut for our Marty Christmas card 2011 (I will share those on Christmas). In the meantime, I wanted to share the rest of the super-fun photos that the very sweet, Jan Schill took for us.
Jan is a photographer here in Durango; I originally saw her work about a year ago she had an installation at Starbucks. More recently, my good friends had her do an engagement session for them (and they booked her for their wedding!). That sealed the deal, on somewhat of a whim, at rather late notice, I decided I wanted professional family photos of John, Mocha, and I (more about Christmas card photos coming next Monday, by the way). Foremost, I wanted said photos for our 2011 Christmas Card; and second most, I just wanted them so I could frame a couple of them and replace some in frames around the house.
The process was a quick-o 30 minute session that yielded the photos I am sharing here! And, I must note that my sweet Mocha is looking less than her usual self in these as she was in quite a mood the afternoon we took them. Usually such a mellow, easy going gal, Mocha can be a little camera-shy and with a new acquaintance (albeit, a very nice new friend) behind the lense, she was a little skittish.
If you are in Durango and are in need of a good photographer, get in touch with Jan. She also has a blog that includes her photography, her sweet family, and photos from her travels (a trip to Peru will be posted soon!).
