Oh Chloe, glass? Are you sure? (This comment may not make too much sense unless you've seen my blog post from yesterday!) I will look at the table with you in mind and know that it will be okay :) They are both very pretty and I like the 1st one best. xoxo
hahahaha, yes I did read your blog post .... but our table at home was wood that we put glass on top - so I am well aware of the cleaning that glass requires :) I think the glass top will make the table appear to take up less space than an all-wood one.
I am divided on which I like best... they will be paired with Eames molded chairs like these here.
Agreed on the illusion of taking up less space. I spent some time looking at the table & chairs side by side and I'm fairly certain that #2 is the way to go. I love the chairs by the way... they will make for comfy work chairs :) Initially after seeing the chairs I was still leaning toward #1 because of the leg contrast. But if "open" is what you are going for then #2 REALLY pulls that off with the minimum points of contact on the surface. Also, I like the narrowness of the legs of the table & chairs together the more I look. At first them together struck me a too pointy. But now I'm certain that this combo is a good (glass & all!).
