As things stand, we have our dining table and chairs; and our sofa and living room side chair are on order.
Over the weekend we made lots of decisions. We selected our rug, other side chair, TV console, and entry console. We found some art for the entry and we have some good options for the lighting in the living area. For the bedroom, we narrowed down our bed, dresser, and nightstands. I am not fibbing, like a herd of turtles, I said!
Another thing we did over the weekend, though, was find a home for two pieces of art that we brought from Durango. We have two paintings from Durango artist Tess Corinne Jordan ... she has this whole series of bicycles inspired by her love of ..... bicycles! We fell in love with her work several years ago when we went to a showing of her work. We acquired two of her paintings ("mud season" and eeek, I don't know the name of the other!) for our guest bedroom in Durango. Well, of course, we brought them to Miami to incorporate into our new home.
So, one (the one that I don't know the name of) hangs behind our dining table and chairs, officially making this area the most furnished part of our condo. "mud season" hangs in the small hallway into our bedroom but is visible from the main living are.
These paintings looks so fabulous on our flat white walls! Honestly, even better than they did in Durango. I am in love all over again.
And, seeing these hanging up makes me want another so bad! I am just smitten with "There Are Always Pieces Left".
Do you have a favorite artist? Have you taken the plunge and acquired some of his/her art?

Hooray!!! the paintings do look incredible (and I agree with you, they might even look BETTER in Miami!)!! Sounds like you had a productive weekend! Yay!
It all does look fantastic so far. Just think, moving like a herd of turtles allows you to savor & enjoy the addition of each piece! That way nothing gets taken for granted or isn't appreciated due to an all at once stimulation!!
Tess's painting are so great. I actually love the house ones too!
I haven't started on my art collection yet, but look forward to acquiring some Gummersall art when we build a home. Jenny & Greg are husband and wife with VERY different styles, but I love both.
Again, love it! I can't wait to see more!!
That is a great way of thinking about it:

I just checkout out the Gummersalls ... she does fine art photography and he does lots of abstract? Did I find the right ones?
