happy independence day

Like any holiday, what I like about the 4th of July is the opportunity it lends to getting together with family and/or friends and enjoying that good company. Each holiday may have its own reason for celebration, but I take holidays as an opportunity to celebrate and appreciate the valued relationships in my life. Kind of sappy for the 4th of July? Maybe. But it is true.

I am lucky to be spending this particular holiday here in Durango with my John and little John, my mom, my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew, and all our Durango friends.

Happy 4th of July to you! Hope you are enjoying this celebration of our country. Let's remember what makes this country great because there are so many things that threaten that.
