April kind of snuck up on me. And then, I realized it was April and Raffa's birthday is just over a month away, which means his birthday par-tay is too. Then, I put off thinking about it for a few days {too many other things on my work plate}. And finally, the past two evenings, I got my butt in gear and planned his party. Just like that, in two evening, minus a couple things left to be ordered or one DIY project, I planned the whole shebang.
The theme is one that came about from some hand lettering I did for the custom baby book I am making that will cover all of Raffa's first year of life. The hand lettering made its way over to the invitation {which I will share eventually} and then into the party decor, including that felt banner you see below {that's the DIY project I mentioned - wish me luck}. I couldn't commit to a color palette so the palette is any and all colors.
In addition to the DIY banner I am {gulp} going to make, there will be some honeycomb poms. In leiu of party hats, we'll have crowns {or at least the little ones will}.
The tableware will be some cute triangle confetti plates, "happy birthday" wooden spoons, and some custom printed napkins.
Cake flavor is TBD, but will be made by mimi {my mom} and will be decorated in sprinkles. We will also have a smaller "smash" cake just for Raffa to dive in to.
The party itself is going to be at a park and we'll have some activities for little ones {sidewalk chalk, bubbles, balls, kites, bikes/trikes}. I want to keep some of the other details, like the party favors, on the down low for now. But, I will be sharing each and every detail eventually.
You can find the sources for the various party products on my "Raffa's 1st Birthday" Pinterest board.
